In The Memory of a Dear Friend
An Ode to Jose Lam

He was so lovable,
He was so adorable,
He was a friend,
He was my friend.
Day and night, he wrote something,
No one knows what he wrote,
He stood with a coffee tray,
Outside my office so humble he was.
He fed me with cookies and coffee,
Such was the love of my friend,
Weekends he discussed India and Canada,
Remembering his friends fondly with me.
One day I got the news,
That he has left for his heavenly abode,
The shock shook me and I remember him so well,
His face gleams before me vividly,
He was one of his kind.
(My first poem and I acknowledge with thanks the inputs of Geetika Sethi for the finer touches and changes )
