In Search For Meaning of Success
What does success mean to you? A few observations as food for thought.
Success means doing the best we can with what we have. Success is in the doing, not the getting — in the trying, not the triumph. — Wynn Davis

Success is not in the getting but in the doing. Here are some thoughts from observing some ‘truly’ successful people in life:
1) We are successful when we accept life as it is, with all of it has given, not what we hope for or dream about, but making the most of it and accepting the responsibilities for our lives instead of blaming others or avoiding them. We can say YES to life despite all the bad elements and find reasons to get up each day with a grateful heart.
2) We are successful when we win over the battle against negativity. By looking for the good in others, and seeing the potential blessings in the bad, we have succeeded in turning every challenge in life into possibilities and opportunities. Life will always look good this way. Life is hard, and it will always be hard. There will never be enough short-cuts to go around the hard, we learn to cope and cut right through it.
3) We have become successful when we master the art of keeping good relationships. As social creatures, our interactions with others cast a large influence. When we become skilled at being sensitive to others' needs and feelings, we bring out the best in others and in ourselves. People will gravitate towards you, respect you and hang in your every word.
4) We are successful when we have clear directions and purpose in life. We know what we want to go after to make us happy and we pursue them out of an innate desire and passion. We enjoy the journey and accept the challenges naturally as growth catalysts. Those who know what they want in life will never complain about their pursuits, they talk about the excitement of the adventures instead.
5) Successful people are always seeking to learn new things and explore new experiences. They never stop learning and are always ready for the next adventure. They never lay idle and feel bored, they constantly seek ways to augment their existence, enriching themselves and diversifying their experiences.
6) We are successful when we understand the choice between existing and living. Those who get the most out of life put the most into it. They turn passion into actions and set sail to explore. They reap what we sow, and they enjoy life to the fullest. Living is when someone lived his whole life doing the things that he loves. He isn’t rich, doesn’t own fancy cars, no branded clothing, or named decors. He wakes up each day content and happy, and always looks forward to the excitement and opportunities that will bring him more joy and satisfaction. He lived a life without regret.
To be what we are, and to become what we are capable of becoming, is the only end of life. — Robert Louis Stevenson’
I intend to make this a running list, let me know if you observe more traits and markers of truly successful people in the world.
