In Honor Of US National Poetry Month…
Let’s Weep Against Abuse.
Hi there,

She thought she was me
But better.
Thought she struck gold.
They connived, Manipulated, Lied, Cheated,
Betrayed.
Until I was gone.
Now she sees
What is in her heart is in his too.
You wanted the kingdom
Comes with the king.
A heart as dark as coal
Icy cold fingers grasping
Tearing down your soul
Self, worth. Everything.
Good days farther and further between
Uncertainty, your daily bread
Who will you tell your story to?
When everyone saw what you did?
Now you whine to him,
I gave my best to you.
Darling, what did you think I did?
On my Insta account @okwywrites, you can see many more of my poems but do let me know what you think about this piece.
All my love! And hello Mustapha El Hajj
