In Challenging Times — Don’t Quit
Instead can you learn to trust the process?

We are in a NEW year, yet there is still a lot of old that has been brought over.
Still feeling frustrated? Not in control? Overwhelmed? Tired of it all?
As I have mentioned, the year doesn’t change things. If you are looking to change how you feel — that change starts from within.
I know — first hand. You see, I had spent a good deal of my early life in a place of anxiety and fear. I stressed over the smallest things. “How’s that working for you?!” as Dr. Phil would ask — and I realized, it was not…
I decided then to make some changes — and those changes started with me. I started to practice gratitude. I focused on faith and trusting the process.
I looked to the hope in something more.
I couldn’t change what was happening around me, but I could change how I responded. And as I did, I started to feel better. I began to see things in a more positive light.
I felt more at peace.
Can you relate? Have you made changes as well? Maybe you’re trying to?
Or maybe you don’t realize you can. Many of us were taught that our brains are hardwired and therefore can’t change. I’m living proof that this is not the case. We can rewire our brains. It’s called neuroplasticity.
There are many programs, courses, self help books and experts that one can turn to for help. And for some, it can be as simple as just changing a thought.
It has been helpful for me to know that I am not alone in some of my thoughts and feelings — that it’s not just me. As then I know I can make changes. Group support has helped me to uncover and realize this.
This is what I love so much about ILLUMINATION — the connections I have made and continue to make, especially during these isolating times. The feelings of not being alone. Being with like minded people.
Sharing the journey with others was one of the things that led me to Weight Watchers (WW) and helped me to be successful with weight loss and maintenance. I went to the meetings each week and listened and learned.
And then took myself on a deeper journey which opened me up more. I changed my relationship with myself — and ultimately, that changed my relationship with others — as well as my relationship with food.
Have you thought about how your relationship with yourself affects everything around you?
As we leave behind the year of 2020, I see the continued need to have a support system. Many of us are affected in so many areas of our lives.
Are you feeling it? The pressure? The stress? The uncertainty? Just waiting?
If you have been following me, you know that I am starting my own business NEWLAND WELLNESS. My focus is on helping women make the second half of their life the best half…
…and what better time than now to take some control, tap into our inner power and bring some peace into our lives?!
I originally had plans this past fall, to launch my 5 week course From Panic to Peace to help ladies on this journey to discover that something more — by going within.
The last 7 years of my life, I have been using tools and techniques to help me as the life I knew no longer was. I went from being dependent on my ex to tapping into my own power and finding my independence — and voice.
I learned to take control of my mind, health, emotions… I learned to love myself and learned that I was really better off without my ex.
I learned I was given a gift — that I could make the second half the best half.
My intention is to share what I have learned with others. This starts with my course, planned for Fall 2020. Due to some technical issues, it was delayed.
It felt so close and yet so far. I went through almost all 7 stages of grief when I realized the delay. I wondered if the Universe was trying to tell me something.
And for a split second (well maybe more like a few minutes) I wanted to just pick up my ball and go home. I was ready to quit. This just isn’t working.
How many of us question that if something doesn’t work out as planned that it isn’t meant? We take it as a sign… to stop.
Instead, what if more time is needed? Maybe something needs to be changed or adjusted? Maybe we need to prepare ourselves some more.
Does this resonate with you?
Are you feeling that way in some aspect of your life? Maybe you are struggling with your job, your business, your health, your relationships? Maybe even a little of all during these times?
If so, then I am telling you what I’ve told myself numerous times:
Don’t Quit
And within that powerful quote is a powerful message: Do it.

Have you ever notice that?! The double action of this quote?
So if you are struggling with your job or business — what can you do differently to make a change? What can you do to turn things around? How can you adjust? Or is it maybe time to move into something NEW?
Don’t Quit
If you are unemployed, look at it as an opportunity to find something more suited for you. What are your passions? Follow your heart or gut for guidance.
Don’t Quit
Are you having health issues? How can you change what you eat, how you move, how you handle stress, how you sleep, rest and add some play?
Don’t Quit
Issues in your relationships? What can you learn about the other person and yourself? How can you bring forgiveness, understanding, unconditional love to those in your life — and also yourself? Is it time to let someone go? Or bring someone NEW into your life?
Don’t Quit
When shit happens — shift happens. Or not — you get to choose.
Life happens for and not to us. As painful as times can be, I truly believe that.
Change the way you look at things and the things you look at change, as said by Wayne Dyer.
If you are not happy with areas of your life, then it’s time to stop accepting the life you have — and create the life you want.
With all the changes going on especially now — be the change you wish to see. Stop settling and move outside your comfort zone. Dream big.
Accept what is, let go of what was, and have faith in what will be…
I trust that the process that all is working out as it should. That the universe has our back. In challenging times — we get to see what we are made of.
Ladies, it’s time for us to move forward. Are you interested in finding peace, taking some control and tapping into your inner power?
