In Between Breakdown And Breakthrough
Prompt response: Overwhelming breakdown proved to be an undeniable breakthrough.

Don’t dismiss the heart, even if it’s filled with sorrow. God’s treasures are buried in broken hearts. — Rumi
The breakdowns* or the blessings as I like noting them as can be extremely hard. Even if we have experienced them before and even if we are equipped with the lessons to deal with them, they can still unsettle us and at times be overwhelming.
While it may be easier to think about them as blessings retrospectively when we are amidst them it may not feel that way. And if we are on the path of healing and understanding ourselves better we may find ourselves moving quickly to analyse our ego or the situation, even at times to resist what we feel.
I always find it useful to fully feel all the emotions in such a situation. Accepting things as they are being a great tool that helps soften the focus on the issues or any other mental chatter that might be bothering us. It is best done when you are all by yourself.
While things start to settle down, I generally write down all of my thoughts on the matter or the situation in the exact manner I am feeling or processing them. No censor or what is right or wrong but just being honest. You could write for days before we are ready to look at what we have written. I find this very useful to then separate the fluff from the meat of the issue.
Gratitude is another great tool to always employ knowing things could have been worse and being grateful for everything we have even if it feels it is not enough.
From that place hopefully the blessing starts to get revealed as we see more objectively what we can do to make things better for ourselves.
*Needless to say we should get all the help both personal and professional to sail through difficult situations. Hoping this piece could supplement efforts of taking care of ourselves better. Thank you for reading x
