Summary

The text reflects on the poetic journey of observing nature and the human condition, contrasting the vivid imagery of a sunset and the beauty of Krishnochura trees with the introspective search for meaning amidst the mundane and the struggle to find answers in the chaos of life.

Abstract

In "In A Study of Unitary Rules," the author paints a vivid picture of a world where the beauty of nature, exemplified by the Krishnochura tree, intersects with the poet's introspective quest. The narrative oscillates between the past and the present, juxtaposing the vibrant, almost intoxicating, scenes of yesterday with the somber, reflective mood of today. Yesterday's imagery is filled with the rhythm of poetry and the warmth of the setting sun, while today's reality is marked by a search for unity and meaning in the face of darkness and uncertainty. The poet navigates through the streets, which are likened to a canvas, seeking answers in the "unitary rules" that govern life, yet remains an observer of the silent suburb, detached from the apparent calm. The text is a contemplation on the struggle to reconcile the beauty of the natural world with the existential quest for understanding and purpose.

Opinions

  • The author seems to appreciate the transcendent beauty of nature, as seen in the descriptions of the Krishnochura tree and the setting sun.
  • There is a sense of nostalgia for the past, where the poet was more connected with the rhythm of life and nature.
  • The poet expresses a deep desire to find coherence and unity in the world, symbolized by the "unitary rules."
  • The text conveys a feeling of disconnection from the present, highlighting the poet's struggle with the mundane and the search for deeper meaning.
  • The author suggests a tension between the poet's inner world and the external reality, as the "house of poetry" remains detached from relativity and the everyday.
  • There is an acknowledgment of the poet's role as a passive observer, rather than an active participant, in the unfolding of life's events.

In A Study of Unitary Rules

Yesterday Being drunken by the fallen rhythm- The field of poetry soaked up in the sun. And when the tales got free, over the boundary, The sinking sun paints the regions. The beach is seen drowning on sight. And the houses got bathed in fiery Krishnochura. Yesterday Wasted pestles of papers in the summer storm For every watch that touches the eyes, In the study of the words, on a sleepless night. And rode the cloud on the scaled canvas- Once again, in search of unlimited ends. Today After worshipping the cherry flower around, The pavement goes riding the petal carpets. By pushing the street that made by steps, Dressed in all dark colours as depression. To fetch the solution with the unitary rules. Today Still, the eyes do not see the sky, the spring air The house of poetry does not sink in relativity, For a strange journey to the unknown time To not to be the centre of the coeval gyre. Today Great hectic, in the love of brick and stones, Walks into the apparent silent, sleeping suburb. The day folds up her sunshine in utter neglect. Not unmindful of that, yet I haven’t written it down. Today, the gloom looks up behind the faked sleep. Oh! It’s been a long time that the eyes haven’t sighted, The summer storm and the fiery Krishnochura!
