One of the best ways to improve your writing skills is just to keep writing. Failure after failure, just keep going relentlessly. Because the more you write (and possibly fail) the better you will become at writing.
You have to keep writing, no matter how poor you may think your work is. You are putting knowledge in writing, and as such creating a digitally accessible product. No matter how minute you may consider your knowledge to be.
Always remember that there are people that are struggling to do something you have already mastered. The “secret” to improving your writing skills is to learn from the writers better than you, and then teach those who know less than you.
Improving your writing requires constant research and consistent writing. The more you write, the better you will get as mentioned before. That is why it sometimes (most times) takes a few years to be a really good writer and/or well-known author.
The internet is an Ocean of information on just about anything you can think of. With writing tips, it is no different. Among my favourite writing tips, learning and researching are right at the top of the list.

In order to stand out as a writer, you must offer value and unique content, as useful as possible. Always create a strong and lasting message.
Even long after your reader had finished reading your work, it must still be useful enough to return to. The uniqueness and usefulness of your content will always depend on your level of knowledge.
Standing out from a rather large crowd will depend largely, in my opinion, on your ability to offer solutions. People search the internet mainly for one of 4 things, or all 4 combined.

In order to be able to offer competitive content based on the 4 suggestions will require a lot of research. Know your audience, know what they are looking for and provide your own solutions.

Personally, I find writing articles and creating eBooks to improve my writing skills rather exponentially. But there is something I need to just “put out there”.
My home language is not English, but Afrikaans. A language born from a mixture of Dutch and German. Just so you know English is my second language too.
Therefore I can only share what I found rather helpful to me in improving my English writing skills. But it also improves your understanding of the English language, for me anyway.
My Secret To Improve English Writing Skills.
Watching movies and series they use more defined English, especially the old ways of speaking the language. Using words like “therefore”, “I am afraid”, and “Hence”, you get my drift.
Some of the best English dialogue I have learned quite a bit from, are series such as these. Admittedly, I have quite the imagination and completely submerge myself in the story and dialogue. Listening to learn, not to respond.
Game Of Thrones. (Just Mind-Blowing English)
Merlin. (A Bit Of “Old” English)
Black List. (Reddington Phrases Sentences With A Curious Pause)
Gotham. (I Love The Butler’s Accent)
Arthur. (Outstanding British English Especially The Nanny)
Eventually this way of “speaking English” gets tattooed in your brain, as it did in mine. Soon you will find a rather refreshing style of writing flowing through your mind and “pen”, so to speak.
Autopilot subconscious writing is what I like to call it. Sounds a little “silly” but it works like a charm. Your writing skills will improve as your knowledge grows. There is no other way I know of.
Tips on Self-Publishing Articles and eBooks.
Improving Your Writing Skills is one thing, getting published is quite another. But it is really easy to self-publish your eBook.
Or even getting your articles on a high-authority site where you can even get certified as a professional writer.
Or, just getting your eBook out there for people to read without publishing. The options with eBooks are endless.
There are 4 specific methods I like using myself to get exposure for especially my eBooks. Both through self-publishing and not publishing at all.

The first method to market your self-published eBook is Facebook, but you never share any download links to your eBook. No, this is something completely different, no link sharing here.
Facebook will have no problem with your marketing technique. Because it is more of an invitation really. You will be sharing an image to invite responses and then give away your free eBook. (With your affiliate offer/s inside I hope?).
Create A Facebook Post Image (In the Right Dimensions)
Post to Your Facebook Feed.
Share Your Post in Groups.
Share Your Post on Pages.
You can create such images with a tool called Canva, but I have mentioned that one quite a lot in my other articles across the internet.
The image should be specific and carry a clear message. Your intent is to give away a quality eBook for free.
But you still do not provide any links. Instead, you send a PM (private message) to the person commenting on your post. In the event, it is the first time you send a PM to someone.
They must first accept your message before you can attach a PDF file (your eBook).
Facebook Direct Messaging is the delivery method of your free eBook. But, of course, inside the eBook, you can include affiliate links. One of many ways professional affiliate marketers generate sales.
