#ImpeachTrump Rallies Across U.S. Have Been Largely Ignored by National News

Here’s the video highlights from the protests led by Indivisible and MoveOn.

On June 15th, protesters came out nationwide to call for an impeachment inquiry against President Trump. The protests were organized by activist groups Indivisible and MoveOn, in conjunction with other activist groups such as Need To Impeach and The Women’s March.

Although there were around 140 rallies nationwide the national media largely ignored the protests, turning these well reasoned and impassioned cries for the defense of our democracy into so much noise brushed away by the ephemeral nature of the internet. Compiled here are highlights of footage found on various social media accounts.

Yet support for impeachment is growing strong…

In a recent NPR/PBS/Marist poll, a whopping 52% of Americans believe Trump should be held accountable for crimes described in the Mueller report: 22% of which specifically call for impeachment proceedings to begin now, while 25% want further investigations into his wrongdoings. (Though realistically these two options are two sides to the same coin, as an impeachment inquiry would involve further investigations and conducting those investigations anyway would doubtless result in a determination on impeachment.)

The bottom line is that dissatisfaction with President Trump’s conduct is now felt by the majority of Americans. We have been calling for justice and it has been working. Now it’s time to kickstart impeachment into action.
