Impeachment, Again
A mess we are all responsible for.
WHY!
It is 2021. Think about that for a few seconds.
Okay, long enough. It is inconceivable that in the 2nd decade of the 21st century we have this many whiny little brats in control of our lives. I speak of politicians. The grossly overpaid non-producing segment of society that we, as a people, have enabled beyond belief. We are at fault, we voted, we let this mess happen. Doesn’t matter what side of the virtual aisle you are on, both sides suck. Everybody is to blame and nobody has a plan.
There was a demonstration in Washington DC, by conservatives. A few individuals did stupid things. Everybody up in arms, bring in the National Guard arrest these thugs. Wait up a second. We were told not that long ago that demonstrators, mostly peaceful, should not be lumped in with the instigators. The large majority of the very large conservative crowd was peaceful and there to show support for the outgoing President. They did nothing wrong.
Today our spoiled little brat, politicians, who apparently grew up in the “everybody is a winner” generation, has decided to impeach Trump again. I guess they decided he is the loser, no gold star for him. Poor guy.
WHY?
Man has less than two weeks remaining in office. There are serious problems in this country that need to be addressed. Spring training is just around the corner. Do we know if fans will be allowed back? No, we don’t, somebody get on that. Stat. Real problems.
I would feel better about our country right now if Trump could call up Biden, might have to wake him up,(sorry I couldn’t resist) and have a sit down no press no aids just those two in a room and get the handover started.
Our government, our way of life, is not easy to understand. We are a country, but yet we are really a republic of independent states. We have elections based on party politics, but the winner represents everybody. One man, one vote, yeah sort of, kind of, maybe? Well, the President, per the Constitution, is not elected by a popular vote. Now I challenge you, yes I am talking to you, to try to explain our country to a five-year-old.
I venture to guess you would get a slew of questions that you probably aren’t prepared to answer. That’s OK, not being able to answer questions is a sign of maturity, or is it old age?
This will in all likelihood be my only political post (rant) for the year. From this point on I need to concentrate on my writing, Larry Mouse needs a second chapter. I have several mysteries started and would like to finish “Dead To The Last Drop” a Calendar Mystery Novel.
So good luck to the next poor bastard taking office, I wish you well. To Mr. Trump, all I can say is thank you sir for four dedicated years of hard work. To the Congress, get over yourselves and start working for the country instead of your own damn pocketbooks.
A Chief Petty Office once explained politics this way. “Politics is easy, there's us, and there’s them, we’re better” So there you go.
