CREATIVE ADVENTURES — 6

Imagine You Can Use Telekinesis

How Would You Use This Superpower?

Telekinesis is the ability to manipulate objects with your mind. In other words, you can influence a physical system or object without physical interaction. You use the sheer power of your brain to do this.

Telekinesis is widely used in comics, fiction, pop culture, and TV series. Remember ‘Stranger Things and how Eleven has used this power. Another great series on telekinesis was ‘I Am Not OK With This’ where Sydney Novak is realizing her telekinetic powers. I loved watching both of these fantasy series on Netflix.

Even though there is no scientific evidence of telekinesis, there might be a day that it will be real. I kind of feel the inert power of some form of telekinesis that we hold in our brain: Every thought we hold causes a gravitational ripple and this spreads across the universe. Every thought is impactful — our thoughts are so powerful that they have the capacity to change reality. Let us build on this and carry it to the next level:

Imagine that you have the ability of telekinesis. You can move objects with the sheer power of your thoughts. This is your super-power.

Please respond to the following questions:

  1. Would you like to use this power? Explain why or why not.
  2. Imagine that you have only one chance to use this power. Think of an occasion that you would prefer to use this power. Imagine and write down the story. Why and how do you use this power?
  3. Now, imagine that there are unexpected consequences of you using that power. Think of one positive and one negative event that might surprise you.
  4. Imagine that you have three additional chances to use this power (telekinesis). What could be three other occasions? Create three stories where you choose to use this power to make a difference.
  5. The human mind is the most fascinating object in the universe: 100 billion neurons are firing, creating, learning, and building links all the time. How can you push the power of your brain to its full potential? Create 20 ideas on how to maximize your brainpower and the full potential of your mind.
  6. Create 10 new ideas to achieve mind magic. You can build on the ideas or examples of magicians, wizards, enchanters, geniuses, virtuosos, artists, futurists, and mentalists.
  7. Imagine that the year is 2035 and technology has helped us bridge the gap between our minds and the physical world by leveraging brain-machine interfaces, such as Neuralink. Using Neuralink, you can instantly connect to smart devices (a Tesla car, for instance). Write a story on how you might be using this technological power.
  8. Create your own questions and imagination experiments using this theme and its variations.
