Imagine You Can Survive Extreme Heat

Would You Jump Into Fire and Be A Firefighter?

In this blog, imagine that you can endure and survive extreme heat. You can jump into the fire and pass through it.

Please respond to the following questions:

1. What would you do if you had this power? How would you add value and solve problems? For example, you could be a firefighter and jump into the fire to save lives. Think of 5 other ways to create value.
2. Think of three instances where you can use this superpower. Choose one of them and create a story where you act like a hero and save the situation.
3. Due to global warming, your superpower will be very crucial and handy. We have unfortunately entered the age of fire, the Pyrocene. As the climate worsens, thousands of dangerous and destabilizing wildfires are everywhere. Ecosystems are in danger. The glaciers are melting and future generations will not see the ice in the Arctic. Create a story where you try to respond to these systemic problems.
4. Imagine that you want to educate the larger public against the grave dangers of climate change. How would you create a convincing case and story? Please create a TED Talk. You can use demos if you prefer.
5. Imagine that you go to a very hot planet, such as Venus or Mercury. Write a science fiction story on how you survive and establish life on such a planet.
6. Imagine the following: The more you spend time in the fire, the more you can store fire in your supernatural body. This gives you the superpower to act like a dragon: You can breathe fire and spit fire. How will you use this power? Create a fantasy story where you use this power.
7. Imagine that you have a big evil side trapped inside you: You have a very powerful and dangerous desire to burn things and start fires. Pyromania is the impulse to deliberately start a fire to relieve tension or for euphoria. Write a story where you struggle with this dangerous passion. How do you struggle with this shadow side of yourself and transcend it?
8. Write a poem on fire. For inspiration, you can use Jeremy Riddle’s song titled ‘Love On Fire’ which has the following lyrics:

I’m letting out this fire tonight That’s burning in my spirit I’m gonna dance with all my might I don’t care who sees it I’m gonna let it wild Be just like a child And say, “I love You, Lord”
