Imagine You Can Invite Three of Your Favourite People To Dinner

Who Would You Invite?

Imagine that you can invite three of your favorite people to dinner at your own house (or wherever you would feel comfortable). You have never met any of these people personally, so this will be your chance to meet them, talk to them, and learn from their experiences and wisdom.

Imagine that you can invite any person in the world (as long as they are alive). Assume that they will be able to say yes and join you at this dinner.

These people can be your role models, celebrities, entrepreneurs, etc.

Please respond to the following questions:

  1. Whom would you invite? Choose these three people now. Choose wisely.
  2. Why have you invited these three people? What do hope to gain or learn from them this evening?
  3. How would you design, plan, or organize this evening, so that everything would be special? Think of creating an evening that will be a sweet memory for all participants.
  4. Imagine that you give each of these people a personalized gift and message. What will be your gift for each of these people? Write down your personalized message for each person now.
  5. Imagine that your guests can all sign something for you. What would you give each of these people to sign for you?
  6. Think about the selfies. How would you request a selfie or a picture that captures the spirit of this evening? Imagine that you can request up to three different pictures. Design these pictures in your imagination. Who will take these pictures?
  7. If it is overwhelming for you to invite all of your guests during the same evening, you may consider hosting three dinners and inviting each separately. Would you do this? If so, how would you design, plan, or organize each evening?
  8. Imagine that you will be able to ask each guest three questions. What questions would you ask each of your guests? Please write these questions down. Use this opportunity wisely — you do not want to ask them the questions that you already know the answers to. If you can ask these questions to Google and learn the answers, then do not ask these questions, for example. Moreover, please do not ask questions that may violate privacy — remember that this evening must be enjoyable for your guests as well.
  9. Choose one of the guests now and imagine that you are now having dinner with him or her now. Please imagine and write down the conversation that you would have with them. Imagine the whole conversation, from the start to the end, but keep it at 10–15 minutes at most (for the purposes of this exercise).
