Summary

The website content presents a creative exercise prompting readers to imagine being the last person on Earth, encouraging introspection on solitude, survival, and personal growth through various activities and storytelling scenarios.

Abstract

The undefined website outlines a thought experiment titled "Creative Adventures — 35," inviting readers to envision a world where they are the sole survivor. It challenges them to construct narratives around their solitude, drawing inspiration from the post-apocalyptic movie "I Am Legend." The exercise includes creating a personal post-apocalyptic movie plot, listing activities to enhance well-being, identifying hobbies and passions that can be pursued alone, and suggesting outdoor and indoor activities suitable for solitude. Additionally, it encourages reflection on the psychological impacts of isolation by writing about the dark side of being alone and composing a letter to oneself about mental health experiences during the Coronavirus pandemic.

In this exercise, you imagine that you are completely alone. Please respond to the following prompts.

  1. Imagine that you are completely alone in the entire world. Why are you left alone? What happened to humans? How would you feel? How would you deal with being alone? What happens next? Write your story.
  2. Remember the post-apocalyptic movie titled “I Am Legend” where Will Smith is the last human left in New York after a virus wiped out humanity. You will now create your own post-apocalyptic movie. You are the hero who is left alone. Decide on the location. Are there dangers waiting for you? How do you deal with them? How do you stay alive? Write the plot of your movie. How does this story unfold?
  3. Think of at least 5 specific activities that you can do alone to increase your well-being. These will be daily habits that you will repeat every day. Make your list.
  4. Think of at least 5 different hobbies or passions that you can do alone. What do you love doing? What activities provide you excitement and flow?
  5. Think of at least 5 activities that you can do alone while you are outdoors or in nature. Planting flowers or trees? Hiking or swimming? Think about the specific location and duration of each activity.
  6. Think of at least 5 activities that you can do alone at home. Playing which music? Gardening? Cooking a dish? Reading which books? Taking a bubble bath? Be as specific as you can.
  7. Write a story about the dark side of being alone. What hunts you? Dark thoughts? Depression? Mental monsters? Describe your emotions, how you deal with them, and how you take action.
  8. Write a letter to yourself that describes your mental health experiences during the Coronavirus pandemic. How did you deal with the stress of being under quarantine or lockdown for such a long time?
