THINKING OUTSIDE THE BOX AND ESCAPING THE RUT
Imagine that you have just 10 years to live: What would you do?
A short reflective exercise unleashing the virtues of reflecting on your death
I will not take too much of your time in this blog and make it very concise.
I have 2 questions for you:
Question 1: Imagine that you do have just one year to live — what would you do?
Please brainstorm and write down a list of possible actions you would do.
Would you work on a lasting contribution before you die?
Would you create artwork?
Would you visit new cities or countries you have not seen before?
Would you see some friends or loved ones you have not seen for a long time?
Would you delve into more risky adventures such as skydiving?
Would you spend more time spending in nature, watching birds, sunrises, and sunsets?
Would you write letters and buy gifts for beloved ones?
Would you spend time along, reflect, and write about your life?
Are there any actions you would take in the fields of your career, your family, your travels, your hobbies, or your projects/contributions?
How would you spend your last year?
Imagine possibilities and write them down.
What does your heart desire?
Write whatever comes to you.

If you have reflected on Question 1, now, let us go to the second question:
Question 2: Imagine that you do have 10 years to live — what would you do?
This time, you have 10 years ahead of you.
Please brainstorm and write down a list of possible actions you would do in 10 years.
Would you sell your belongings and start traveling the world? Would you sail the world or explore new parts of the world?
Would you climb rocks or volcanoes? Would you go deep diving? Would you go to space travel?
Would you help other people as much as you can? Would you try to leave a legacy or contribution? Would you establish a new enterprise or a charity?
Would you learn new skills or languages? Would you create some assets or artwork? Would you write a book? Would you plant 1000 trees?
What are the actions you would take in the fields of your career, your family, your travels, your hobbies, or your long term projects/contributions?
How would you spend your 10 years ahead of you?
What do you desire?
Write whatever comes to you.

Conclusion
What did you learn from your responses to these questions?
How did your plans differ for one year vs. 10 years?
What are the actions that you can immediately incorporate into your current life?
How can you design your life right now so that you will not have big regrets and live a full life? How can you build a system that will help you build this ideal life?
Remember: Our lives are short. We have limited time on this planet. However, we still have access to all the power, spirit, resilience, creativity, and smart strategies we need to lead a fulfilling life.
Sincerely;
Fahri
