I’m Sure That, Like Me, You’ve Heard A Lot About The Power Of Mindfulness And “Finding Joy In The Little Things”

I don’t want to come down too hard on those concepts but it can be a constant struggle to find a sense of satisfaction in routine life. It’s not easy, but if we’re going to make it through this long slog called life, we need to make sure that there are moments of happiness throughout.

My daily life is fairly routine

I wake up. I make breakfast. I go to work. There are some mornings that are more stressful, but that’s par for the course in any job. So what then separates these days? Is it because my work has suddenly become more enjoyable? Well, perhaps, but actually it’s more of a matter of habit. It’s become part of who I am and how my life operates so easily on autopilot that it takes effort to notice when something better comes along.

I remember this one day I woke up and decided to go for a walk. As I was walking, I noticed that there were some little buds on the trees that were just starting to open. It was sunny and warm, which is unusual for February. My curiosity was piqued and I took a look around to see what else I could discover about my neighborhood. There were people out walking their dogs and playing with their children. It felt like everyone was acting as if they had nothing better to do than be outside enjoying the day. That’s when it hit me.

I suddenly realized how much I had been missing out on by being so busy all the time. All of life is so fleeting and precious and we miss so much if we don’t stop long enough to smell the roses. Maybe we should all take a cue from these people and enjoy life while we can. It might seem like a simple concept, but what you don’t realize is that there really isn’t any such thing as a small pleasure. You just have to be open to it in order to find it.

It’s a reminder that it can be just as easy to focus on what you’re missing out on at the moment as it is to focus on all of the good things happening around you. You have to appreciate and understand the difference between “small pleasures” and “big ones”

”In a way, all pleasures have a similar quality: when we appreciate them they bring us joy. But when we do so, we benefit in a different way. Small pleasures are those that give us pleasure when we focus on them in the present moment. Big ones are those that give us pleasure if we can let them carry us into the future. They plant the seeds of gratitude, of hope, and of inspiration.”

“Many of the things that we pick to be our pleasures are big ones. We focus on them with other people or to other people, or they represent something that we want to do in the future, like travel. If I’m sitting at my desk and I see a beautiful flower vase on the windowsill, I can appreciate it without having to do anything about it at all. Not so with small pleasures. They often turn into a nuisance when we try to look at them in the present moment. It’s hard to savor a chocolate cookie if I’m thinking that I’d rather be having a piece of cake. Small pleasures only give us joy when we can keep them in the here and now. That is why they are so important. They help us learn how to be happy at the moment. Then, when we find ourselves in difficult situations, for example, when someone is angry with us, we can draw on whatever reserves of joy we have. We’ll understand that it is possible to be happy even in difficult times.”

“Finding Joy In The Little Things”

  • Learn to recognize the joy in the face of adversity. We often get so caught up in our own difficulties, in our own lives, that we fail to see the countless opportunities for joy around us. The struggle itself becomes our focus rather than what it is struggling against.
  • Look for small pleasures and be fully present when you find them. Life is a succession of little things, one after the other — a flower here, a ray of sunlight there. Life is a succession of pure pleasures that come and go moment by moment. The secret to finding joy in this way is to look for them. We sometimes have the impression that life comes at us from all sides, but really, it is a gift. If we can keep our eyes open and learn to appreciate its little gifts, we will be happier.
  • I feel joy when I am with people who do not try to change me or make me feel guilty for being myself.
  • I feel joy when I read a good book, see a beautiful sunset or have a good conversation.
  • No matter how many pleasures we find for ourselves, no matter how hard we work to make our lives better, there will be times when life seems unbearable and we want to give up. This is not because we aren’t doing enough to make life better; it is because we realize that it will never be perfect.

Takeaway

I believe happiness is a choice. We either make it happen by working at it or we accept that our lives are going to be a struggle and we can either choose to despair or choose something different. I choose a life of constant discovery, pleasure, and inspiration. I seek joy at the moment because it seems to be the only thing that will forever present itself.

It’s not hard to find joy every day if you’re willing to work for it. If we choose to work at it, that makes us happier. I believe that hard work and the pursuit of joy are the only way to happiness. I believe that love is a life choice, not a feeling. We all have feelings for people but most people don’t let those feelings change their lives because they’re afraid of being hurt or rejected or undesirable in some way.

The people who do are the ones who are happiest. People only hurt others when they let themselves get hurt or make themselves feel guilty or undesirable. I believe joy is a choice, no matter how small it may seem at the moment. Keep your eyes open for it. I believe that once you start focusing on loving yourself, it will begin to take over your entire life. It’s great because it will change everything.

I believe choosing joy will change everything you do.

I believe that small pleasures are the most important things in our lives because they are the foundation of all other things. I know they seem insignificant but they are important. I also think that happiness is a choice. Happiness is a choice between being full of joy or being full of fear and sadness, and sadness lends itself to depression and despair.

This article did not talk about happiness the way I did, but it did talk about small pleasures. I believe that life is all about finding joy. I believe that sometimes we get so caught up in our own lives that we don’t stop to realize how wonderful this world is and how amazing other people are. This article talks about how to find joy in little things like other people or even flowers or sunsets.
