I'm Not a Morning Person and What is The Morning Person's Secret?

I might wake up at 6 am, but it's guaranteed that my feet won't touch the floor until at least 7:30. My bed is so much cozier and warmer in the morning. My fuzzy comforter wraps around me and invites me to stay. It's insistent about it, too. I may doze back off or just lay there and think about nonsense or my next story.

That doesn't mean I will spring into action when I get up. I don't want any lights on for a while, so I brush my teeth by a night light. I make my way into the kitchen; there's a night light there, too. Coffee, coffee, coffee! I have a Keurig, so I don't have to wait long for my first cup of caffeine. I'll consume three or four cups while I check on Facebook. You 'morning people' have probably hit the road running by now.

Not this gal. It will take a long hot shower to get me moving, but it will get me moving. Don't get me wrong; I'm not bragging about this, and I don't think my way is better. I want to know what makes you tick. Is it the way we were raised? Is it genetic? Why can you wake up 'all bright-eyed and bushy-tailed'?

I want answers! Does that mean I want to be a morning person, or do I want to understand? I don't see any reason to change at this stage. After all, I'm retired and entitled to be lazy. I had to get up at O'dark:thirty when I was working. Didn't have a choice then.

If you have any insight for me, please share. And Good Morning to you!
