No, I’m not about to have a mental breakdown. If I had had to remain in Arizona… maybe. But certainly not here in the North Georgia mountains.
Nope. This was the battle cry that ranks now as one of the most memorable lines in the history of Hollywood movies. The line comes from the 1976 movie “Network”. I’m thinking a re-do of that film might be a great idea. If it happens, you heard it first here. It’s my idea. But for the millions of us who are fed up with the corrupt, do-nothing politics in Washington, it’s apt.
As I sit here in my office on this late evening, looking at the darkness that is the forest surrounding my house, I contemplate everything I could be mad as hell about. Because it’s no longer easy for me to be mad about anything. Since moving here to this town of 650 in North Georgia, surrounded by lakes and mountains, trees, and green rolling pastures, I have become as content as I have ever been. Seriously, how can I be mad about anything living here?
To be honest, I am angry about some things, but things for which I have no control. Anyway, here’s a shortlist I’ll call my “Mad as Hell” list.
- Stupidity — My pet peeve… stupid people. Ignorance, laziness, apathy, and lack of education, are the breeding ground of stupidity. There should be a test for stupidity prior to allowing anyone to vote in an election. One question would work. Who was elected President in 2020?
- Politics — Congress, the White House, Washington DC is littered with grifters that take advantage of not only the aforementioned stupid people, but all of us. It makes me mad to see people, even stupid people, be taken advantage of.
- Terrible drivers — They make me mad as hell because they are essentially stupid people with no idea they are capable of mass destruction behind the wheel of a 5000-pound vehicle. I have lost friends, killed by these drivers.
- Business owners — Having owned several businesses, managed them and been in charge of hiring and firing, business owners who refuse to value, acknowledge or even thank their employees, get me riled. Employees are their best asset and they are clueless and greedy.
There are also some very recent things (yep, back to politics for a moment) that I’m mad as hell about (pissed is more apt).
Political parties. Every time I read or hear of a Democrat or Republican I ask “why can’t we just kick ’em all out and start over?” We can you know. But too many stupid people keep voting for them. Remember, corporations are people too.
Political parties are the basis of all the corruption in government. Follow these people and watch their actions, listen to what they say. The laws they produce are for you and me, not them. Examples you ask?
Insider trading is fine by Congress. They should be allowed because we are a free market system. This is from the Democrats' chief grifter in the House, Pelosi. Her reasoning is that her wealthy husband has fun trading stocks daily… using insider information from her.
Last year alone, 56 members of Congress traded illegally using insider information. Over a quarter of a billion dollars in stock was traded. Though it’s hard to get exact numbers because they also failed to complete the required documents as well.
Laws without teeth. There are rules that state members of Congress can not trade upon insider knowledge and all trades must be reported. If these rules are not followed, what happens? Nothing. It’s a rule with no repercussions for those who ignore it. That makes me mad as hell.
Most citizens are not aware that every President of the US must, by law, turn over all forms of communication, all written notes, phone records, texts, emails… everything must go to the National Archives. Again, prescribed by law. Except for Trump it now turns out.
Evidently, Trump tore up and destroyed an unknown quantity of documents. He also had bags of documents burned before he left office. So far 15 boxes of documents have been discovered hidden at his home in Florida. When agents were sent to recover them, they also found furniture he had stolen from the White House. What a guy.
Laws without teeth. While Trump broke numerous laws during his 4 years pretending to be President, no President has ever disregarded these laws as he did, ever. So now what? Nothing. When the rules were set, nobody expected a President to ignore them. Until Trump.
One last thing, since I’m on a roll here. We now have a Democrat President and I have to ask, do Democrats still not get why people don’t want them around either? President Biden, who refuses to legalize pot, or standardize nationwide medical pot, or even decriminalize pot, has just approved a $30 million dollar grant to provide needles and (crack pipes?) “safe smoking kits/supplies” for addicts.
You can’t make this up. But politicians in Washington sure can.

Caught with pot? Go to a corporate-owned prison half of Congress owns stock in, possibly for years. Smoke crack or shoot heroin? Give them free needles and “safe smoking kits and supplies”. No rehab, no medical help, no mental health assessment… just spend $30 million on a bandaid and it’ll all be good.

So I’m thinking if everyone who smokes pot went on a rampage in every city of the nation, would Biden provide grant money for bongs for everyone?
It never occurred to Democrats that $30 million would be a great start to providing rehab facilities to get people OFF drugs and put them to work. Who is paid to come up with this idiocy? $30 million dollars for buying crack pipes for addicts. Stupid people. This is the perfect example of what idiots we have in government.
The saying is “you can’t fix stupid.” But we can kick these dimwits out of office. All you have to do is go with a ‘Write-In candidate’ … like Pogo.
I could go on and on here. It’s fun but depressing. For now, I’m mad as hell and not going to take this anymore.
