I’m Black And I Believe Black People Are The Weakest Race
Don’t kill me yet.
“Black people are the weakest race.”
I saw this post on a social media thread. It talked about this group-think mentality black people have adopted in the last decade.
Every black person with a different opinion from the stereotypical liberal is a “coon,” when those black people are the real coons.
Let me backtrack a bit.
I’m not saying we’re weak as individuals — especially not physically. I mean we are weak-minded.
This became apparent when my family and I talked about our old church.
We have been going there since my sister and I were kids. As years passed by, every member of that church left.
The church had different funds each person could select for their tithes and offerings. My sister and I chose to put our money in the fund dedicated to helping the homeless.
Turns out, that’s NOT where our money went.
It went to the building fund — and the church never told us.
Then I thought back to the whole Tyrone situation that happened at Howard University a few years ago.
Black students are sleeping in tents outside while one of the student financial aid workers embezzled almost $500k for his own gain.
If that’s not enough proof, think about the Black Lives Matter organization.
The owner used that $100 million they got from the George Floyd uprising to buy a 6 million-dollar home in LA.
I’m not saying black people in charge of institutions ALWAYS steal money, but it’s a huge pattern.
Heck, I just ate subway today. Guess what? An Indian person owns every single subway in my state.
Now that’s collective power.
Black people have been plagued by American individualism to the point where we STILL can’t build anything on our own.
If we do, we sell the business to a white person who offers the big bucks.
We never have TANGIBLE and MONETARY collective power. That’s the main thing we should have a group mentality for.
Instead, we have a group mentality about being victims.
We make excuses for being in the shitty position we’re all in now. We blame it all on racism as if that’s supposed to excuse us for not moving an inch.
We have everything backward.
After all these years, we still don’t believe in ourselves.
I came from a working-class family with a single mom. In the last 5 years, I’ve accomplished the following:
- I went to college for free
- I have a good-paying job
- I have a writing side hustle
If I can do that as a poor black girl who had zero confidence in herself, so can anyone else.
I’m not trying to brag about my accomplishments. I just want to figure out why we’re always 2 steps back.
I still believe we, as black people, can fix the situation we’re in.
But we can’t rely on politicians to give us a handout anymore. We need to take accountability for the role we play in our current position.
It’s on us to erase this groupthink mindset and build a collective mindset based on TANGIBLE outcomes, not “Black Lives Matter” signs painted on houses.
Until we can pull ourselves out of this funk, we are the weakest race.
I hate to say it, but it’s true.
