Covid Update

I’m Better — and Annoyed!

Or… I’m better enough to be REALLY annoyed by everything

As you know, I’ve was down with covid. Paxlovid has done its job and I didn’t get anywhere near the worst effects of the coof. Tomorrow (Tuesday) will be two full weeks since symptoms started on Tuesday, 16 January 2024.

Although I’m not back to myself, I am much better. I’m at that point when I’m better enough not to be sick. But, not better enough to feel really well. You know the point in recovery… it’s that point when everything annoys the hell out of you.

I neither look nor feel my best. How dare anyone be chirpy and look sunny and bright when I feel like this! Much like the kitty in the picture above, the world is pissin’ me off right now.

How do I feel?

Don’t even look at me crosseyed. And, don’t you dare come at me all chirpy and cheerful. And, stop that damn whistling. That just makes wanna slap the cheer right off ya. I mean… I won’t. But, that just irks me all the more.

Don’t you dare laugh either! Seriously, what the hell business do you have being all cheerful and solicitous when I look like this and feel like I just climbed out of the fucking grave? Fuck AAAAAaaaaall that noise!

Hamid and I both had covid; we’re both better but still have the coof oogies. He’s still better than I am, though. He’s the one whose been all chirpy at me and has no idea how dire his situation is. Though he too is still fighting that covid hangover, he’s been back to work all week now. It’s left me very fatigued.

We’re at the start of our health insurance deductible cycle so all our medical expenses and prescriptions for covid are out of pocket. Plus, I just got hit for a $350 bill for my Dulera asthma maintenance medication. And, my husband’s shitbox of car with nearly 300K miles is finally in its death throes. All coming at us as the mortgage comes due in a few days. Man… when it rains it pours!

Hamid was out of work for a full week. His employer paid no sick leave while he was down. Plus, with the holidays past, they’re not allowing any overtime for him to make up any of the lost income.
