I’m Addicted to March Madness
And I’m not even mad.

Before the start of this year’s NCAA tournament, I have never watched a full March Madness game before in my life. Now, I’m addicted to it.
I’ve never been hip on watching sports on TV, but now I have a reason to this year.
As a junior at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, it’s a great time to be an Illini. The team won their first tournament game yesterday and now are on the path for the championship.
I Have a Horse in the Race
I’ve been watching Illinois basketball in person for the last two years. COVID prevented me from this year, but I didn’t fret. I watched the entire season on TV.
Now, with them playing in the tournament, I have a horse in the race. And it makes it so much more fun.
I’ve become so addicted to college basketball and the tournament to point of betting of games, watching all day long and having real, genuine reactions to certain points of the games. I’ve become a fan.
It’s All Because of Illinois
Without Illinois, I probably wouldn’t watch a lick of the tournament. Nevertheless, the team has helped grow my interest in them and in college basketball.
However the tournament proceeds in the coming weeks, I hope Illinois does their best to make it as fas as they can. If they don’t end up winning, I won’t be heartbroken.
I will be happy to have watched them in the tournament, and I will forever be grateful for them letting me become addicted to college basketball.
