Early Gaia Morning
A poem of interdependency

My shadow appeared as if I was on stilts
from the rising new sun filtering through
shiny colored leaves
behind me,
its warmth brushing my back
ricocheting on every angle it could touch
rocks, pebbles, boulders, and crushed leaves,
a passing squirrel watched by an attentive house cat
licks clean his fur from a wicker chair on a porch
while a woodpecker beats his tune,
an occasional breeze plays harmony.
