Why I write this post?

Well, someday ago I saw people on the Medium Facebook group talking about Illumination.

Someone wrote that the best thing about Illumination is, they publish every story without editing and the worst thing about Illumination is that they publish every story without editing.

I didn’t think that I should say something. However, this morning when I scroll down to my daily read on Medium. I found the article that forces me to write this article today.

I think as a writer of Illumination I think I should not be quieter and should share my perspective with my readers. I read the post of The Maverick Files who is a great writer and editor of Illumination.

After reading this post, I think it’s necessary to share my point of view as a reader and writer of this Publication.

Even some days ago, when I was scrolling my Quora recommendation page, I found one question?

Are there any easy ways to get into medium publications like Illumination?

I read the first answer which is like this:

“Illumination takes anyone & posts everything, so yeah - it’s real easy. Just apply.”

I agree that it’s easy to get into Illumination. I agree that they don’t have any restrictions on topics, and they encourage to publish content on every topic.

On the other hand, when people said Illumination publish shit then I and many other writers of this publication have to write this kind of stories to let them know what is the reality. It reflects sour grapes.

Illumination publication started around March 2020, and today has 94k followers — which is no small number in such a short span of time. This is a massive success because we all know Medium is a highly competitive platform for writers and bloggers.

People don’t follow without getting something valuable and informative. Followers are increasing day by day because readers are getting something worth reading from the writers of Illumination.

If you are thinking Illumination publish anything then you are wrong because Illumination is reaching a different milestone with exciting services every day. For example they have a curated collection and another publication publishing book chapters from accomplish authors. An more like Synergy for freelance writers and Technology Hits for tech writers.

As Dr Mehmet Yildiz (founder) points out illumination is a goldmine.

I know they give a chance to every writer out there on Medium. This is the reason why I like this Publication more than any other. There are thousands of writers on Medium who are not native English speakers, and they are trying really hard to prove themselves as better writers.

Illumination is a hope for all newbie writers.

A few fearful writers with wrong motives think that Illumination is a cult and their masterpiece might be lost in between other shitty pieces.

However, this is just their illusion because if your work is worthy enough to read, readers will find it.

I am telling you all this from my experience. I have published with several publications including Writer’s Blokke and the Ascent. However, stories published in Illumination have more views than any other stories.

Illumination has some great editors who are working really hard to publish your stories in minutes.

I bet no publications will ever publish your stories fast other than Illumination.

The founder and editors are hardworking and encouraging. They are working really hard to make Illumination successful.

It’s my humble request to all the people out there on Medium, it’s completely on you where you want to publish your content. If you think illumination is not a worthy publication for your content then don’t Publish in it. But please don’t use some bad words for this amazing Publication.

If you can’t inspire someone, then please don’t at least discourage someone.

Illumination is the only publication that cares for your content.

I always recommend every beginner writers on Medium to start their Journey with this amazing publication.

The goal of Illumination is to provide a place for everyone’s work no matter you are a beginner or a pro. They always have a place for your words.

The founder and editors of this publication are very polite. They are never rude to any of their writers. If they want some changes with your piece, they always write a private note with some encouraging words.

I am always grateful to all the editors of this amazing and wonderful Publication.

You all are doing such great work. Don’t stop, no matter what others are thinking because no matter how good you are doing, there are always haters in this world. So, ignore them and do your best.

I hope that Illumination will reach another milestone of success in the future.
