ILLUMINATION Achieving Triple-Digit Growth

When I first joined as a writer for ILLUMINATION, I didn’t know what to expect. All I knew was some random person was asking me to join a new publication, after reading an article of mine that was basically about it not being necessary to write in publications — because your passion for writing would be enough, I said in the article.

But what would happen if a person put all of their passion into creating a publication that would be a place for people, with a passion for writing. Yes, a place where these writers wouldn’t have to second-guess themselves. Where they wouldn’t have to accept rejection of their work thanks to the arbitrary whims of random editors. Where they neither had to hide nor postpone their dreams of writing, because this place was full of acceptance, full of diversity, full of encouragement and full of expert-level guidance for those who were still rough around the edges.

If such a place existed, what could it do? What would be its limits? Well, we don’t have to wonder long because there is such a place, and it’s called ILLUMINATION.

Impassioned by Dr Mehmet Yildiz and backed by a dedicated group of talented editors and writers, ILLUMINATION is doing what no other publication of its size and youth is doing. Since its inception on March 18th, 2020, ILLUMINATION has grown at an average rate of 148 followers per day. However, I have been tracking the follower size of Medium’s 604 largest publications since May 5th, 2020 with the data published on TopPub. Take a look at the incredible numbers our publication is putting up.

ILLUMINATION is averaging a growth rate of 193 followers per day for the time frame I have been tracking! While other older and much larger publications have been able to achieve greater growth in the same time period, ILLUMINATION is still ranked 16th in follower increase out of the 221 growing publications in my data set.

Furthermore, if you notice the left side of the spreadsheet, you will see that we are ranked 303rd in overall follower size. That is out of 11,431 publications that are tracked on TopPub.

The most interesting number on this spreadsheet is under Growth as % of Initial Followers. At ILLUMINATION we have added an additional 148.8% of growth onto our original 5,445 followers from May 5th, 2020, to give us a total of 13,545 followers as of this writing. We’ve already doubled in size since I started tracking the numbers, we are very near to tripling, and that’s just in 91 days of data tracking.

Growth like this doesn’t come easy. But with the leadership of Dr. Yildiz, 25 editors, and 350 behind-the-scenes members on our Slack channel, you can bet this phenomenal growth is just getting started. We are doing everything we can to get you the visibility you deserve as a writer and as a creator.
