If Your Gut Has Been Reliable Before, It’s Not Very Likely to Fail You Now!
“Intuition is seeing with the soul.”
Five days ago, I got an email. There is a specialist I have been trying to see for over a year. The email stated I could meet with him over the course of the next three weeks. It was good news, and it was bad news. There was a domino effect.
I had to call my boss to extend my leave. I needed to find someone to cover my post during the additional leave. Funds? Yes, that needed mobilization. I had to give my landlady that update, change my flight date after paying the difference in fare and also contact the airport officials I ought to have met up with.
September is a prime season. Changing flights or buying tickets anytime except for the last week in September is very expensive. A phone call to my agent confirmed that.

Now, while I stared at the email, I had this feeling deep down that I should not make any changes. I ignored that feeling and swung into action. In less than three hours, I had made all changes. I went to bed and slept soundly that night.
In the next few days, I met with the specialist for the new treatment. The sixth day was supposed to be the decider. If he assessed me and my body responded adequately, he would continue the treatment. If the reverse was the case, he would discontinue. The latter was the case.
Now I understood the deep-seated feeling I was having. I could have done without making all those changes. I could have kept my original flight date and saved a lot of money. In fact, not just save money but make money.
I almost feel like going into a frenzy of all the times I have this same feeling and how I responded in each case as clearly, this is not the first time. For most of my adult life, it has come again and again. We can safely say it’s heaven’s gift to me. When I ignore it, things go wrong.
As I type this, I am making a silent resolution to never ignore it again. If I can’t shake it off, at least I can wait it out, take no action and see how it grows.
“Intuition is like reading a word without having to spell it out. A child can’t do that because it has had so little experience. A grown-up person knows the word because they’ve seen it often before.” ― Agatha Christie, Murder at the Vicarage
