If You Were Like Me
Emotional poetry ~ lyrics
* She ran in a lonely race, With birds flying in a sunny space.
But no one noticed much or cared, Toward the sea and sky they stared.
She wondered …
When are you going to hurt, What if your joy reversed, And what have you ever learned, Like me … Just like me
So when are you going to hurt, How was your life deferred, And how would you stop the world, If you were like me … If you were like me
Solemn hours blurred into years, She smiled out from a soul of tears.
All the big mistakes she had to hide, In silence, without a rope or guide.
And they were numb to her falling down, Then climbing up to a broken house.
But no questions, and no care prevailed, Just mindless men with hearts that failed.
So when are you going to hurt, What if your joy reversed, And what have you ever learned, Like me … Just like me
When are you going to hurt, How was your life deferred, And how would you stop the world, If you were like me … If you were like me
If you were just like me …
