If you want your learning solution to have significant business impact, it needs to have these three critical components

An effective learning solution goes beyond putting on an engaging event. When you focus on short-term fixes, you end up with short-lived behavior change that’s often misaligned with broader business goals.

So, how do you approach critical business problems in a way that celebrates learning while having significant impact?

Take the time to think through these three components of your learning solution before you deliver anything.

🔎 Start by creating a Strategy for why you’re focusing on learning in the first place.

What is the specific problem you’re trying to solve?

Why is it critical to address this challenge right now?

What are you hoping to see if it’s successful?

How will this align with other business goals?

✏ Once you have your Strategy in place, move on to crafting the Experience.

Who are you designing this experience for and what do they care about?

What type of support does your audience need to be successful?

How will you translate that support into observable, measurable behaviors?

How will you provide that support in a highly relevant, practical way?

📣 After you create the Experience, Communicate it to your audience.

What methods of communication will resonate with your audience most?

What language will spark their interest and increase engagement?

How often do they need to hear about it to take action?

Where can your audience learn more if they have questions?

Focus on these three critical areas to create learning solutions that last:

Strategy. Experience. Communication.

Where could your learning initiatives use more attention right now? (Remember, learning doesn’t always equal training!)
