If You Want To Write Every Day, You Need To Master Your Time

Writers will tell you to take a day off but I say you need to write every day. You don’t have to write 2000 words every time. You can write 100 words and call it a day.

You have 24 hours today, tomorrow, and the following day. No one says you can’t spend an hour a day to write. You are your own boss when it comes to writing.

Yes, you can let other people who don’t know your life, tell you otherwise. I spent 365 days in a foreign country and worked 365 of those days. There was no day off.

You can do the same for writing. You can write 50 words and call it a day. Then the next day, you can write your 1000-word article.

There is no magic formula. You own your own formula. You control your life and what you do or don’t do.

It’s easy to skip a day and watch Netflix all day. Try this instead. You watch a movie only after you have written your article for the day.

If you don’t know, I’m on a mission to write every single day. I enjoy this and writing lets me express my thoughts and feelings.

Life will send you on a detour

The world around you requires you to do something different from time to time.

  • Work
  • Family
  • Friends
  • Sickness
  • Disease
  • Accidents
  • Eat
  • Sleep
  • Vacation

This list is endless. Feel free to add your own here____________.

The most important thing you need to do is write. You have to fit this somewhere in your schedule. This is why you need to master your time.

You need to own time rather than letting time own you. Whether you use your phone, a calendar, your watch, or a planner, you need to block time in your schedule to write. This could be 20 minutes a day to two or three hours.

Write in the time when you plan to write. Today, I have a party for my daughter, so I had to adjust my normal routine. My normal goal is to write by noon or so.

On this day, I finished by 9 am. Do you see how simple this is? You know your daily routine with a few exceptions.

You have to own time, or time owns you. There are 24 hours in a day or 1440 minutes. There are 1440 minutes or 86,400 seconds.

You own those 86,400 seconds to do as you please. Don’t make excuses. Make the Nike moto, your motto.

Just Do It!
