If You Want to Win At Life, Play the Long Game
Seek the flow state

Hello there,
How are you?
This has been a hectic week in terms of my day-to-day.
I felt like I had been unproductive and a bit behind. That has inspired me to write this week’s edition.
So let’s go…
Stop rushing and start patiently executing
As you have observed, most people are caught in a never-ending trap of instant gratification, short-term thinking, and quick results.
Because too many of us are hard on ourselves to fit other people’s notion of productivity.
People misunderstand time.
I used to do this all the time myself.
I wanted to get things done as quickly as possible by next week instead of building an attainable plan and timeline.
But if you want to achieve something substantial, you may need to work months if not years.
It just takes time, effort, and patience, the three most unsexy yet extremely valuable commodities you have available to you.
Here’s how to play the long game.
Just Start:
The most prolific business advice I got in recent times is to start and stop procrastinating.
Whatever it is you want to do or achieve, just start.
Don’t wait for the perfect moment. Perfection is overrated.
You will learn as you move forward.
If you have an idea, put it out, and try if it’s going to work.
Consistency wins over everything:
Show up every day no matter what. That is what separates you from others.
Many people start many things but how many have the courage you keep showing up despite failures, rejections, and low points? Think about it.
Sometimes being the last person standing wins.
Become a lifelong learner:
At this time, you don’t need to be an expert in everything. You can learn anything anytime.
Your mentor, coach, and teacher didn’t bear with the expertise. They learn with time.
If you spend enough time focusing and learning, you can become an expert in anything.
Learn as you are going to live forever.
Have fun:
It might take you six times the effort and time to achieve something but if you enjoy the process and the journey, in the end, it’s all worth it.
Take adequate rest days, create a system to build something from the ground up, and spend time with family and friends.
Here’s the reality:
There is no way to get there quick and if you think there is, you’re taking a long way around.
I hope that gives you something to think about.
Be Bold
Be Courageous
Be Your Best
