If You Want to Succeed in Life, Quit Everything You Love
Do you agree?

There’s some seriously bad advice floating around the internet these days.
Right up there with the worst, perhaps, is this:
If you want to succeed in life, quit everything you love.
I’m seeing this more and more, especially on social media.
- “You have to quit your 9–5 job to pursue entrepreneurial freedom.”
- “You’ve got to cancel your Netflix subscription, because TV is just a distraction.”
- “Your friends are holding you back, it’s time to dump them.”
- “If your partner doesn’t support your dreams, you need a new partner.”
What absolute garbage
I understand the “don’t get waylaid, be laser-focused” mindset. It makes sense, up to a point.
But choosing your Big Sexy Goal over the people and things you love?
Nah. Not for me.
It’s completely possible to enjoy some downtime each day and still succeed with the thing that makes you money.
In fact, those periods of rest probably play a huge role in that success.
That’s why it’s called work-life balance.
Choose the balance
Don’t give up the things you love in the pursuit of success, especially if that’s what the internet gurus are telling you to do.
Behind the scenes, they probably haven’t dropped a single one of their hobbies.
Live your life. Love your life.
Choose the balance.
