Can you think of somebody who is loved by everyone? They are the heartbeat of many people. People get so excited after seeing them. People start looking at them wherever they go.

Yes, you guessed it right.

They are dogs

Ever wondered, dogs are one of the few animals who don’t need to do anything for living. They just love people unconditionally and spend their life peacefully.

People who have dogs can relate to this. If you come home from work, your dog gets so excited to see you. You know why, because:

“Dogs are genuinely interested in people”

If you become genuinely interested in people, people will like you.

I have been reading the book called ‘How to Win Friends and Influence People’. I learned this simple principle from this book.

However, most people are interested in themselves only. All they want to do is talk about themselves. They are not interested in other people’s life. They ask about other people’s weekends so that they can talk about how awesome their weekend was.

This self-obsession is destroying our relationships. We are not able to connect deeply with other people. Because of a lack of genuine interest in other people, we are not fostering strong bonds.

However, we can work on this. We can show genuine interest in people and develop strong bonds.

You can show genuine interest in people by doing this:

1. If somebody is telling you a story, ask questions. It shows you are listening carefully and interested in them.
2. Greet people with a smile and cheerful energy. Show some excitement when you meet people.
3. Ask about their work. People love talking about their work and how they are making an impact.
4. Ask about their day. Show that you care about them.
5. Talk about their goals and ambitions. It shows you are interested in their life.

That’s the secret to making people like you:
