If you want me to open your emails, be sure I can tell who sent them.
Lately it seems that the number of people using only a first name as the sender on marketing emails is increasing.

I know a lot of people named Anne. All of the ones I know personally capitalize their first name, but that’s a different issue.
I’m on a lot of lists, I’m active in multiple organizations, and I know a lot of people. I get hundreds of emails a day. I check the sender and the subject line before I open, delete, or save for later (“save” means a strong likelihood that it will never get read).
When I can’t quickly tell who an email is from, I usually delete it.
If I don’t know you, don’t try to trick me into thinking I do.
If I know you, remember that I get a lot of emails and it’s likely that I know several people with your first name. If you want me to open your email, your sender name needs to be something I recognize.
