Does Social Media OWN You Or Your Phone Owns You More?

Reconsider what you do with your life while you are on your phone

Take out your phone look at it closely and ask yourself what this piece of metal/plastic-like thing is really used for.

We can’t leave our phone alone anymore.

Here is a list of things you may want to reconsider:

  • We eat with our phone, whether is it lunch or not, we grab our phone 9/10 times before that piece of meat or whatever we are about to eat.
  • We sleep with our phone, and when bedtime comes we look for the phone as if it were our little child that could not be misplaced.
  • We walk and scroll with our phone, how many times have you done that for the past week? If none great, if some you might feel that you are playing dodgeball on the street every time you do it.

How you use a phone is what matters.

How you use a phone is what matters

Now take a few more seconds to think about what just happened.

I just stole 10 seconds of your life.

For you to realize the hours and days you put into your phone or something called social media, I know or that gaming and other similar apps. Social media has the lowest barrier of entry and it sometimes feels good for whatever your brains tell you is okay.

Sorry, but that wasn’t you just a programming team from another end of the screen telling you to follow their steps of operation in an app called social media.

If you don’t believe it, try breaking their TOS a few times, no problem off to the next app.

I can’t say that social media is good or bad, as it was designed with flaws to trick the brain into going easy mode and lying back with enjoyment of whatever you want to view.

There is no way out but rather you can use what seems to be flaws or defects to the person as a tool.

A tool to send out messages, and share some ideas and life lessons that are worthy to a reader of such issues.

If you can’t control what you don’t online or anywhere in the space then your risk of having no purpose has just gone up.

The hardest part of life is you think the things that don’t matter, happen to matter when you are trapped or too late for your mind to do anything.

Fall right back to the tiny screen again, for the wrong reason.

That is when you repeat the whole cycle of pulling out the phone while you eat, sleep, and walk towards your job or next job.

Yes, your phone follows you, and so do your apps. Creepy enough that you enjoy it.

Sh!t Wake Up.

How I would use it is my phone = output from me and whenever it is not in use, it is waiting for more output from me.

How you measure that would be what you want others to receive and what are you inputting into this thing called a social media app on a phone with a motion of your fingertip.
