If You Only Visit One Country in 2022 Visit Costa Rica
Volcanoes, beaches, and inner peace
You may be wondering whether to spend your vacation by the sea or in the mountains. Have you ever imagined traveling somewhere where you could have both?
Then Costa Rica could be the ideal destination.
Costa Rica was one of the Central American countries I visited during my recent vacation. I can unequivocally state that I fell in love.
Costa Rica is more than a country, a location, or a culture.
Costa Rica is the ideal place to visit when you’re angry, happy, or looking for inner peace. It’s also a great place to retire.
Beautiful beaches
Costa Rica has some of the most stunning beaches I’ve ever seen. Sure, there’s no accounting for taste, but who doesn’t want to spend the entire day at the beach?
Costa Rica has something for everyone, whether it’s white or black sand or calm or rough waves.
Nota bene: The best beaches are on the Pacific Ocean, while the Atlantic side has mostly mangrove vegetation on the shore.

A wide variety of outdoor activities
Imagine you’re standing on Manuel Antonio Beach with a cocktail in your hand. Suddenly, you notice some daring people boarding a parasail and flying above the ocean.
Does this sound exciting?
For me, as well.
That’s why when I first saw this, it sparked my adventurous spirit. I don’t know how to swim, and the prospect of falling into the water gave me shivers at first. But I just tried to relax and enjoy the entire experience.

In any case, while flying above the ocean may not be for everyone, there are plenty of alternatives.
Like a zipline.
Canyoning.
Or ATV rides.
In Jaco, I personally rented an ATV. The landscapes I saw and the entire journey were worth every penny.
A driving license is required for renting an ATV, as is wearing a helmet throughout the ride.
Nota bene: Most activities cost around $50 per person, and the majority of them include a guide.
National parks and volcanoes
Costa Rica has a diverse range of national parks and volcanoes for those seeking a deeper connection with nature. A local guide is recommended for a better understanding.
For a small fee, you can learn how the Arenal Volcano’s 1968 eruption buried three villages, what local superstitions are associated with the volcano, and how they manage to recognize an impending volcanic disaster.
There are many animals and birds that can be seen in national parks (such as sloths and parrots) that can make your vacation more enjoyable.
Nota bene: Admission fees are typically less than $15 per person, not including the guide.

The majority of the locals speak English
In terms of people, the majority of the locals speak English and are eager to assist anyone in need.
Costa Ricans are very proud of their country, and they will always recommend the best place to eat, the best rental company, and some natural hidden gems.
Nota bene: In order to gain their attention, I recommend learning a few basic words and phrases in Spanish.
Delicious and healthy food
Costa Rica’s gastronomy can meet everyone’s expectations, beginning with gallo pinto (rice and black black beans) and ending with casado (rice, beans, and meat).
If you are a vegan or vegetarian, you will find enough food options in Costa Rica to support your lifestyle.
One of my favorite aspects of Costa Rica was the availability of fresh fruits cut and served by locals. The flavors and tastes are unrivaled. They are also wearing gloves and sanitizing and cleaning their utensils after each use.
Nota bene 1: Fresh local fruits are available at roadside stalls. You can have the best pineapple, mango, and bananas you’ve ever had for 4–5 dollars.
Nota bene 2: Costa Rica is not as inexpensive as many people believe. However, the prices are reasonable. Expect to pay between $15 and $20 per person without alcoholic beverages and $20 to $30 with alcoholic beverages.
Pura vida is everywhere
Costa Ricans have an unique life style.
Simplicity and gratitude.
They know how to find happiness in the simplest of things and to be grateful for everything they have.
The best part is that they share their gratitude with everyone else through Pura vida.
Pura vida is more than a “Thank you” or “You’re welcome.”
Pura vida is a way of living in harmony with yourself and with others. Is more than just gratitude. Is life.
Nota bene: Costa Rica is one of the happiest countries in the world. So, when you arrive here, put all your worries aside and let the pura vida embrace you.

In a nutshell, Costa Rica may be the best choice for everyone.
If you are planning a vacation before the end of 2022, you should definitely consider Costa Rica as one of your possible destinations for the following reasons:
