You didn’t push the button

I usually start my day with a cup of coffee. Most of the time I had not cleaned the filter from the last time. I empty the filter and clean it. I add the water to the maker and put fresh coffee in.

Today as I finished loading it my phone rang. It was a Scam Likely call. I did not answer. They did not leave a message. I started checking e-mail.

After a while, I remembered the coffee. When I went to get it the cup was empty.

I didn’t push the button.

How often do we not get things done because we did not push the button?

We get distracted. Something draws our attention away from what we were doing. When this happens we don’t get started.

If we don’t start it don’t get done.

Once when making my coffee when It finished the fluid was clear. I didn’t put coffee in before I pushed the button. I don’t remember why but that is a story for another day.

The important thing to remember is to make sure that you have everything you need before you start.

AND.

If you don’t push the button …It won’t start.
