If You Are Late to the Game, Can You Still be a Player?

Big yes on that!

Late to the game or not, you can always capture the essence of a thing you dream of doing.

I know because I have always been late to the game, yet right on time.

Having experienced a moniker of success in a few areas has shown me success rarely looks the way I thought it would — but rather, a version therein.

Learn how to recognize an expanded view of success

Success has a way of creeping upon us, and if we are unobservant, passing us by. Do not brush off the little wins — they add up to bring the big ones into sharper focus.

Discount the itty-bitty wins, and you forego the opportunity to shift your mindset, remove your filters, and capitalize upon a positive growth-yielding experience…no matter how small.

Should you do it before you feel ready?

YES — Yes, you should. Whatever it may be.

Our time on Earth is uncertain. Tune into that. Feel it. If you are beyond 30, this will be easy; if under 30, good luck with that.

It would be best if you did it before you feel ready because, dramatic pause, you may not be around to do what you dream of doing when you finally get around to doing it. Apologies, but yes, you may well have croaked off by then.

The urgency of life demands we do everything before we are ready.

Homeostasis is overrated, and that about sums it up.

Find out what your currency is and overspend

My currency is my life experience. Guess what? So is yours. We all have a personal currency. Innate, learned, practiced, and battled through; you are the only one who possesses it. Unearth it, apply it to your daily routine, and thrive.

The best part about your currency — it's unique by design and free — Yes, it grows on trees!

Let the unknown be your playground

Have a stomp on the playground of the unknown, the great void, the wide-open space of possibility.

The beautiful thing about the unknown is the limitless potential gifted by it.

A word on fear

When you face a fear, you diminish its capacity to drive your thoughts and your behavior. The sooner you squash your fears, the better.

Wield your thoughts wisely.

Yes, timing is still everything — in a way

More importantly, it's about how you manipulate your time that makes all the difference.

Direct your thoughts, deconstruct your filters, learn to recognize your growth-oriented experiences, and you will find time can always be manipulated. Thank you, Slipstream Time Hacking, by Benjamin Hardy, Ph.D.
