If We Play With Fire, We Get Burned: How To Make It Through The Healing Process

It’s like a hammer pounding on your psyche as you are unsure what to do. We hear stories of everyone’s trials and tribulations, but for the longest time, we never thought it would happen to us. In some way, we thought we were immune to it.
We seek changes from this wildfire we find ourselves in. We were burning away within the blaze, reaching up so high. Everyone can see our destruction as we want to hide it. There is no way out. There is no mercy from the wildfires that cover us.
We try to run away to find some solace, but there is no tranquility in these lands. We are seeking some faith or some kind of miracle to save us in these desperate hours. We are all alone, and we feel ourselves fading away only more this time. Our eyes are worn down. We are no longer carrying that vibrant look that shined throughout our travels.
Why did we play with the wildfire? We knew this could have happened, and once it lost control, it could be contained no matter how hard we tried. It kept us warm in our better days, but it went ablaze and sent it to us to burn as the cold winds came forth. The promises were blown away across distances of land that we no longer know the direction of how to get to. The frigid weather has arrived, as the wildfire has frozen over.
Everything has stopped! We can finally reflect on the deceit and hurt that has occurred to us. We are looking back at our past and questioning ourselves why we made the choices that we made. The burns of the wildfire wound us. We are just staring at our scars. The pain keeps on repeating itself. We don’t want anybody around, no savior to give us a new beginning. All we need is to be left alone.
We are locked in Nano’s land and wondering what happened. We ponder how this happens. Why did it happen? We did not sign up for this? What in the hell is wrong with us? Are we the crazy ones? Was it all our fault to begin with?
We realize that we are building false narratives in our thought process. We have to get better. We have to find a way out of all of this. We have to heal, but we have so far to go. What is the best way to go? What shall we do?
Mourning the good days that we had, and we wish they would return, but we know that is not possible. We learned our lesson. If we play with fire, we get burned. Save those days for someone else. We have to move forward. We are not fools for love or passion.
No longer do we walk with deniability covering our faces and no longer cling to the shadows from the past. The frigid season is still upon us. But we will not cross the lake to take the risk of falling and being trapped underneath the ice. We will not be another victim of it, not this time.
Forget all those little mandates that everyone tells us what to follow. We have got to go our way and create our path.
We find our way out of here. There was no guide, map, or GPS — nothing to give us direction. If we had relied on guidance from the outside, then we would never be up to where we need to be.
The warmer seasons have made their way as the wildfires have diminished. We don’t know where it is anymore. The ice has melted, and we found our way. We will not set our sails along the lake to the other side. That is what so many tell us what we need to do. We will continue on this pathway that we created.
These wounds and scars are starting to heal. We are not searching for happiness from another but contentment from within. The vibrant look in our eyes has returned. We find joy in being our own person.
