If She Doesn’t Sleep Soon I Will Headbutt Her
I might not actually headbutt my baby

The sound of her laughter is beautiful. It makes my heart swell and my world pink and fluffy. Nobody could ever explain how I love a sound as much as I love that one
But if she doesn’t sleep soon I will headbutt her.
She’s eaten healthily, with no sugar after 6. I took her to the park for a good run around. She loves the swing and the slides. I had to grab her before she got kicked in the face by some kid on the roundabout.
But if she doesn’t sleep soon I will headbutt her
I’ve turned Disney off and put lullabies on. No more Moana, Enchanto, or Lion King. She loves when I sing along to Hakuna Matata but it isn’t great for settling her down
And if she doesn’t sleep soon I will headbutt her
I’ve still got my cleaning to do after she’s gone. The kitchen, the bathroom, the bins. I wouldn’t mind an hour on the PlayStation before my eyes shut. Kill some cowboys, and rob a couple of trains.
If she doesn’t sleep soon I will headbutt her
Her bed is a trampoline. Her room is a playground. Every unremarkable item is the most incredibly interesting thing she’s ever seen. The very air in front of her is hilarious. It feels horrible to punish her just for being excited by the world around her.
But if she doesn’t sleep soon I will headbutt her
I think she’s asleep now. I daren’t shine the light on her to check but her breathing sounds different; louder, slower. We have both survived the nightly dance. See you tomorrow, little one.
If you wake up through the night I will headbutt you.
