A MOON CHALLENGE

If Only It Were Possible

To Turn Back Time

There was a time when a friend would tell us things we did not want to hear and still remained our friend.

There was a time when it mattered that others thought of you in a positive light as a beacon to look up to when all else seemed lost.

There was plenty of time once for the delight that came with quality time spent together in the spirit of friendly banter.

As time keeps passing a sense of self grandeur creeps into the crevices where self-reflection once flourished.

Dignity is replaced by the indifference that rises when lost in the chase of material wealth.

When time ends the reign of narcissistic import, for it will end as all things must, no matter how we try to deny.

Will the grief of loneliness be enough to sway the senses, make us understand how little is achieved in a vacuum of self?

At the end of time does being best, matter more than being the best of what is possible in deference to others?

Thanks for taking the time.

The challenge I propose if you choose to play is to share your perceptions of:

  1. Time
  2. Space
  3. Reality
  4. Sound
  5. Vision

Each is a concept open for infinite interpretation, so I would love to read yours. Please tag me so I can enjoy your thoughts, and anyone else you may think will enjoy this exercise. Also, use Moonchallenges as one of your tags.

All are welcome to join in. I’ll start by tagging some of my favourite poets:

Tree Langdon Terry Mansfield Terry Trueman Dr Preeti Singh John Gruber James G Brennan ScienceDuuude Marcus Claire Kelly Noorain Hassan, BMS Nora Thewriteyard Joe Luca Michael Burg, MD Lucy Dan Dave Logan Dr Michael Heng Agnes Laurens Josh Balerite Acol
