If I had to GAIN 35 pounds all over again, I would do these things sooner

That’s me, 3 days before I turned 18.
Flexing so hard I felt like my veins were going to pop.
I wasn’t big at all. But it felt so good because I started working out a month ago.
Like any beginner, I didn’t know how to lift weights.
But more importantly, how to eat properly.
That’s why I am giving you some of my best tips I wish I had done sooner.
To show some proof, this was me a week ago at 19, 1 year and 9 months into my fitness journey.

1. Track your calories once in a while
If you want to gain weight, I have to be honest with you.
This isn’t because I hate you, it’s because I don’t want you to make the same mistake as me.
I thought I ate enough when I was 15.

Does this look like I ate enough?
NO!
You might as well got called anorexic, skinny bitch, or skeleton (I was 15, and Minecraft was the shit back then)
Well, I wasn’t anorexic at all.
I loved pizza, vanilla milkshakes, and any other food that would make the average person blow up.
But not me, I stayed skinny.
That’s because that was the only thing I ate for the day.
Pizza, milkshakes, or any fast food won’t make you fat.
Whoa, wait, this doesn’t mean they are healthy!
But, to gain weight.
It’s simple, if you get more calories in than your body needs, you gain weight.
This is called a calorie surplus.
This should be your main goal for bulking up.
But you aren’t in one, because you aren’t gaining weight.
Many of you, like me in the past.
Thought they were in a surplus.
That’s why tracking your calories once in a while is a must.
It gives you an insight into how many calories you are stopping in your body.
I love the MyFitnessPal app, it works the best for me.
2. Eat more nuts
Nuts are a cheat code.
They are high in protein, calories, and healthy fats.
Let’s take walnuts for example.

Studies also show that walnuts improve:
- Brain health
- Reduce the risk of heart disease and cancer
- Reduce blood pressure
- Weight regulation
To name a few.
3. Water
Crazy right, water can help you gain weight!
But not the way you think.
Water doesn’t have any calories.
We all know that.
But what water can do, is expand your stomach.
This is the main reason I was able to put more food in my stomach.
By drinking 3 to 4 liters of water a day, my stomach would expand and give me more room for food.
I got this life hack from Joe Fazer, so thanks to him!
Check him out on YouTube, he has some great bulking tips!
4. Be more active
Active?!
This goes against the minds of many people bulking.
Weightlifting and that’s it.
No more exercise for the day.
We shouldn’t burn even more calories!
This isn’t true.
By being active, you will indeed lose calories.
This is because, after an activity, you need some food to refuel yourself.
But most of the time, the meal has more calories than you burn.
So go enjoy that activity, and have some fun!
