POETRY PROMPT|POETRY|DECISIONS
If Decisions are Fluid, Please Pour Me a Glass
How changing our views can lead to closer bonds.

Lucy Dan 蛋小姐’s prompt — “a decision you made sometime recently” — inspired this poem.
It isn’t easy casting me aside to reinvent a better version of myself. A new me who foregoes judgment and accepts others for who they are. I saw who I thought you should be — how you should act. I expected you to care about others the same way I do, but you aren’t like me. Not because you’re insensitive, only incapable. A past binds you — it left you hurting and wanting. So, I can chastise you for it or love you anyway. I choose the latter.
Here’s the prompt in the event you want to play along.
