If Death Was My Lover
Based on Spooktober Prompt

If death was my lover, I would not be terrified, But grateful instead, He would teach me, How to live my life, Without regrets, Without missing any opportunities, Without hurting others, Because Death would teach me, The impermanence of life.
But now I realize, Death was not my lover, He is my lover still now, Because Every morning, when I wake up, I am alive, Every night, when I fall into a deep slumber, The day dies, Waiting for the new day to enter, To start a new chapter. Reminding me to start the day new and fresh, Without any regrets, As life serves more beauty, More than I know.
So, death is my lover, As he exists everywhere and every moment. The death of time, The death of unresolved past moments, The death of regrets, The death of hatred, The death of the ego. They die to liberate me to the path of enlightenment.
He is my dearest lover, As he is my greatest guru, He teaches me, That the eternal power, Within me, Never dies, Only the impermanent body, Only the reminiscences, Only the emotions, Can die.
So, thank you, death. I am not afraid anymore, Because you are the greatest teacher of mine, For me to realize who I really am.
