I Write Short-Form Content Because I’m Lazy

And it’s much easier than putting in the work to create something meaningful.

I write short-form content because I’m lazy and it’s much easier than putting in the work to create something meaningful.

Of course, I’d love to create masterpiece after masterpiece. I’d love to have the energy, drive and motivation to spend hours, maybe even days on an article. Researching various points of view to back up my writing, include evidence and links and more to accompany my claims. But the truth is, I just can’t be bothered.

And it’s not that I don’t know how to create a long-form, detailed article with all the bells and whistles. I’ve done it plenty in the past and I’ve been satisfied with the results (views, reads, engagement etc.)

However, nowadays, I’d much rather just get straight to the point, share some key ideas and be on about my day. I know that in doing so I’m not really learning much or improving my craft. But at the moment, I’m not that concerned.

Perhaps one day I’ll find the motivation to create something better, but for now, I’m gonna continue with my lazy short-form writing.

What are your thoughts on short-form content? Do you feel it’s lazy writing or do you think it’s fine to get straight to the point in an article?
