I Woke Up This Morning to My First Medium Tip!

Did you know you have to activate this feature to receive tips?

I like the idea of the new tipping feature on Medium, but when I set mine up, I have to admit, I didn’t expect much. However, this morning I woke up to a lovely surprise in an email that I had received my first Medium tip!

The tip was awesome, but the message made my day.

The tip was generous ($15), but what meant even more to me, were the kind words that came with it. I won’t mention my tipper’s name here, she may not want to be called out. But I will share her message.

You can’t get tipped unless you activate it. But it’s easy to do.

If you haven’t enabled tipping yet, and would like to, it’s easy to do. Click your profile pic. Go to Settings|Audience development| Tipping | Manage tipping.

Next, you will need to add a link to where you want to get paid. And this is how it will look at the end of your articles.
