I Wish You Were Different
A Poem For Them
I wish you were different I wish you were everything
I wish you were more open I wish you were more kind
I wish you were more fun I wish you were less serious
I wish you were more giving I wish you were more into me
I wish you were more independent I wish you were closer
I wish you were more communicative I wish you were more transparent
I wish you were a leader But you’re a follower
I wish you were more straightforward But you only go in circles
I wish you all were different But you’re yourselves
From the outside looking in you seem indifferent She says you’re in your feelings But you hide them because of your ego I wish you would tell me And let me know
I wish you were different But you’re not You’re you
And I’m different
