I Wipe Clean Memory
Choose what I want to keep.

When night fell on that too-long, too-much day, I dropped into dreams Of floods, furies, missing trains, crashing and thrashing and ruined world.
When I finally lurched out of bed, my heart still raced from epic disasters, Memories of things that never happened and others that might come true.
Night still ruled the world with winking stars, terrible howls, and mysterious Dark shapes that loomed too large and too threatening to contemplate.
Lights flicked on, coffee brewed, cinnamon-laced oatmeal, I started this day With morning pages to capture nightmares and wring out their meaning.
I learned more than I wanted to know, rejected fear and dread, created useful With calm intent to prepare boat, avoid trains, see beauty everywhere I look.
