The Interview That Stunned Me: 3 Incredible UFO Revelations!”

This story has a surprise ending!

Updated: Sept 17, 2023: This interview took place years ago, but I still rank this as my most memorable moments. At the time, I was a freelance writer and was assigned to interview a woman who claimed to see UFO’s on a regular basis. I have rebooted this article because it’s a personal favorite and I have rewritten parts of it to reflect my current observations.

The Beginning

Back in the ’80s, when the price of a movie ticket was only $2.75 US, Coca-Cola introduced New Coke, Live Aid Concerts were held in 1985, and the popular comic strip, “Calvin and Hobbes” debuted in newspapers, among other events, I worked as an underpaid but enthusiastic freelance journalist.

At the time, I worked for a local paper and the editor gave me an unbelievable assignment: go interview this lady who has seen and photographed real aliens!

For real? Of course, I jumped at the chance. Who wouldn’t? I figured that this story would either make or break my career or may even give it a boost. In any case, I and the paper’s freelance photographer showed up at this local woman’s residence one day.

The result was an unforgettable experience that I bring up from time to time with whoever wants to hear. On this day, this woman greeted us warmly and ushered us into her neat and tidy living room. In fact, she seemed rather normal and was quite friendly. She offered us a plate of Chinese pastries and tea.

After some pleasantries, she led me to a small room where she turned on a projector. I sat down and watched incredible footage of her alien encounters. I remember seeing streaks of light and small figures appear alongside spacecraft.

She didn’t just have 2 minutes of footage, but lots! It was reported at the time that she had 25 hours of taped encounters all done on an ordinary 8 mm movie camera. Unbelievably, she told me she filmed the alien encounters outside her window. She also told me she saw these strange beings almost every day. Intrigued, I pulled back the curtain and looked outside, and saw nothing out of the ordinary. I believe I only spent about 15 minutes looking at the camera footage.

1. My First Takeaway: She Filmed Them Herself! No Witnesses Except Herself!

These tapes were incredible and it seemed impossible that she had the technical capability to create these images. It was hours and hours of images that featured dazzling lights, orbs and beings with crafts.

My doubts crept in with some questions.

Why did no one else report any UFO encounters near her home? Why were the UFOs only visiting her? This local woman explained to me that she felt that the UFOs wanted to communicate with her only.

My story about Dorothy Izatt’s filmed encounters with UFOs appeared on the front page of the community paper. A few months later I was surprised when a researcher from the TV show, Unsolved Mysteries, asked me to talk about my experience. Producers of the TV show later sent their own crew where they interviewed Dorothy Izatt and saw her unusual films of UFOs. You can find this segment on “Unsolved Mysteries,” Episode #3 (TV Episode 1990). In this episode, you’ll also see a fleeting glimpse of the newspaper I was working on at the time.

2. My Second Takeaway-Unable To Witness Phenomena Myself!

I am still intrigued by my interview with Dorothy. I am a little disappointed that I didn’t witness any strange phenomena myself. I stayed in her home about 15 minutes and looked outside her tiny window and so no unusual activity. Was it because I was sceptical?

I also brought along a photographer and he reported seeing no unusual activity.

3. Why didn’t any neighbours report any strange beings?

This is something I can answer quite candidly. I was part of bad reporting then. Yes, I should have knocked on a few doors to see if her neighbours saw any lights or strange crafts above the skies.

I wasn’t the only one. Other reporters didn’t do that, too. In addition, I am thinking why didn’t her family members agree to be interviewed, such as her husband at the time?

Today: My Take: When I saw the UFO myself back in December 2021, I didn’t report it to the newspapers, too. Perhaps, neighbours were afraid of being mocked after coverage in the media. I, too, was afraid of being ridiculed, so I didn’t report it.

I would like to think that I helped to make Dorothy’s story go viral. She was the subject of a documentary as well as a book, which I ordered recently on Amazon.

As of this writing, Dorothy passed away this year, leaving many of us mourning her passing and also wondering if we truly are alone.

About several months ago as of this writing, Sept 17, 2023, I saw a small orb zoom in and out of clouds — I was pretty sure it was a strange creature from space.

Years later, my husband told me he saw a flash of lights streak by him at a tremendous speed as he walked across a city bridge late at night.

Whether you believe in UFOs or not, there are regular reports of space crafts and strange lights showing up in the night sky all over the world. Even so, the strange objects in the heavens above continue to mystify scientists and the military.

Most recently, the Pentagon has released a new website to provide publicly available information on what it terms as “unidentified anomalous phenomena” or UAP’s.
