9 Safety Keys to not loose Luggage when Travelling
I went from Paris, last month, and I got a very bad experience when traveling on Air France
I was refuse to board the plane going to Madagascar because of my test which was not PCR but ANTIGENIC, and the dramatic part of this fact is that my luggage went to Antananarivo without us ! I was scared to lose my belongings and I went to explain it to Air France which guaranty me firmly that nothing bad would happen to my luggage.
Alas, I lost many items, and the most valuable was the lens of my camera canon 6D. The employees of the airport opened my luggage and took some goods and put back my padlock.
so, I have some tips which are very good when going abroad :
- Assure your luggage if there are some valuable items inside ; take the insurance proposed by the company of the plane,
It would, at least, be the savior for u,
2) If you have paid with your credit card, you may get some refunds and the card will take back all your expenses ; for example if you loose a suitcase….
3) Always put a good padlock on the luggage, for example, the one which is with code ; I put a simple padlock and I got this misfortune !
4) wrap your luggage with the plastic which is proposed at the airport: at least the robbers will not be able to open your suitcase without tearing it.
I was always thinking why people are using this plastic to wrap their luggage : now I got the answer !
5) Take photos of the contents of the suitcase and do a list of all the things you put inside. it would be useful..
6) Always keep the invoices of your items which cost a lot, and if you can, don’t put those goods inside the suitcase going into the hold
7) Put also around your suitcase a belt which comes with a code so nobody can open it as it is wrapped (picture below)
8) And if you have been robbed, always do a report of the theft to the police station, it will be useful for the flight company.
9) At least, if you lost your luggage or anything else inside your suitcase, you can first write to the company of the flight to get compensation ; if no answer from them or if they answer negatively, you can write to the mediator of the company or take action via the site: litige.fr.
