I Was Visited by Muse, And I Doubted Her

But she proved me wrong

I didn’t know what a Muse can do; how could I I’d never met one.

So I thought it was just an idea merely fiction, something creative people in their heads imagined, attributed their abundance to this figment.

Or this spectre was a ruse cooked up by someone intelligent, to hide their tricks and hard work in the name of some apparition.

But then one day when I wasn’t looking and felt within me this strange rising and my pen that had been for ages dormant began to flow with the force never experienced.

And the ideas poured in abundance like the rain tumbling from a cloud-burst of the Indian monsoon and the words rushed at me with a force of a torrent the combined power of Mississippi, Ganges, and mighty Amazon.

It was then that I experienced in the air the holy presence of one of the Muses — the daughter of Zeus, the mother of every lyric, prose and poem — standing

in front of me lovingly smiling touching my head with her blessings telling me to forget all the conventions and let my mind, heart, and soul be abandoned to pure feelings, deepest desires and raw emotions.

And be guided by the purest longings make them the tether to my destinations which I must follow without nagging doubts or heretic questions and so find myself reaching ethereal heavens in the heart of distant stars and in the deepest ocean’s bosom.

And in these places wander in the state of stupefaction blow at the star-dust and dip my finger in the mulch of first creations.

All these mysteries I can keep unraveling only if I keep my belief strong and unwavering, keep my eyes, ears, and heart open to the little things that others might find mundane and of little consequence.

Because the greatest secrets reside in smallest atoms and the smallest moments are the seed from which grow the thickest volumes.

It is by weaving together these little inspirations — living breathing experiencing them — that a person may find true inspiration and convert that to his lifelong work: a joy of eternities everlasting neverending.
