I was Practicing Frustration and Needed a Guide.
After a lifetime of anxiety, it was a major life crisis that finally become an awakening. When the student is ready, the teacher appears.

From childhood, I was anxious, easily frustrated and thought there was ‘something’ wrong with me. I was like my uncle, I was told… it’s in your genetics, I was told…
For decades through my adulthood, I struggled mightily to create a life enriched with abundance. My heart was brimming with determination, yet it seemed that the gods were against me and I was thwarted at every turn.
Piles of self-development books, self-help courses and endless hours of podcasts from success gurus just tickled, but never did unlock the creative energies within me.
From Anxiety to Life-Altering Crisis
The flurry of daily life always clouded my mind, and my dreams seemed to be ever beyond my reach. I became critical and angry, blaming the universe for taunting me.
My own self-caused trauma suddenly hurled me far beyond my regular daily frustration and passive-aggressive emotions, and I was in way over my head in the worst emotional catastrophe of many small bumps on my road of life.
Mine is the classic story of the man who had it all, and lost it all. At the time, the pain was all-pervasive.
I needed help and I knew it.
I ordered the teachings of Dr Joe Dispenza and put his recordings and meditations on my phone. I did an average of ten hot yoga classes a week for over 100 weeks in a row.
That was five years ago. Those were rough days.
Since that time, Dr Joe has been teaching me about the calming brainwave meditations and the transformative powers of meditation. Thank you Dr Joe for saving me from my former self.
Tuning The Meditations For My Next Steps

As my own mental movies have progressed through my ongoing recovery, I started to create a guided meditation for myself, so that I could repeat my own mental movies while walking.
They were terrible at first but I didn’t care. I needed to hear that message over and over again as I overcame the ruminations from my old personality.
All My Best Teachers Speaking To Me
I wanted to weave together a variation of an ancient yoga breathing technique, and combine with the timing of deep breathing with the rhythm of a guided meditation voice that I had enjoyed while following the meditations of Abraham Hicks. And I wanted to remind myself of the key concepts from the book Psycho Cybernetics — all into a personalized meditation for my own well-being.
At first I didn’t have a name for the mediation, it was just another journal entry. I spoke out the words using google voice typing. And most of it… just came out in a smooth flow in about twenty minutes.
I was speaking to myself in the way I would really like a personal friend to speak to me, and google docs does a great job in turning that rambling into text.
“You are precisely where you need to be at this moment in time,” I said, “and your future self is pleased with the steps you are planning.”
Gratitude swelled within me as I spoke the script with an appreciation for the awakened way I’m viewing my emotions.
It was inspired. But needed editing.
For this, I enlisted ChatGPT to format the spoken text with punctuation and paragraphs. It was so quick and easy — saved me an hour of keyboard work on that formatting alone!
The Next Morning I Began To Edit
This meditation models a recorded NLP (neurolinguistic programming) session that I recall hearing many years ago. I can no longer remember the author, but the mental visioning was impactful to me, and has become a part of many teaching approaches I’ve used through the years.
The mental movie adopts the perspective of one’s future self. Of course, your future self already knows how you achieved success because they are already residing in the success you are now starting to create!
As we feel our future self projecting a feeling of deep appreciation for us in the present moment, we can create a loop of gratitude, where our mind not only feels proud of ourselves but is encouraged to continue on the next step in our work with enthusiasm and anticipation!
Guided Meditation For Well Being
And so, with my personal guided meditation for well-being as my compass, ancient wisdom as my purpose, and science as my GPS - I can practice the feeling of well-being and abundance, release the breaks of self-doubt and frustration, and take the next step, no more, no less.
