I Was Accused of Plagiarism By This Publication
…Now what?
Today, I experienced something extremely alarming.
I submitted an article to a publication I haven’t written for previously. The article was about writing on Medium, which is a topic I haven’t written about much, but I felt like I had a point of view I wanted to share.
The publication, Write To Inspire, often publishes articles about Medium, so I knew it was an appropriate subject matter to submit.
The article was 100% my original thoughts and detailed my personal experience only. It contained screenshots of my own stats and performance on articles and was clearly coming directly from me.
Yet, it was denied because it “looks plagiarised” to the editor. How can something be plagiarised if it’s literally based on my personal stats that no one else has access to?
Has anyone else experienced this? Am I missing something?
